Metabo Circle guidelines

Share what worked. Never prescribe.

Metabo Circle is where Metabo members swap recipes, progress and tips. These are its rules, and what happens when someone breaks them.

Last updated 2 November 2026

Metabo Circle’s feed is only for people signed in to Metabo, and nothing in it is shown to search engines. A member can share a link to one post, and anyone with that link can read the post and the replies under it without an account. Readers see your posts, replies and food photos with the name you choose for Metabo Circle, never your email address, phone number or anything you logged. Every member agrees to these guidelines before their first post. They are part of our terms of use.

The rules

  1. Share your own experience. Recipes, meals, what worked for you and what did not. Describe; do not prescribe.
  2. Never advise on medicine. Do not tell anyone to start, stop, skip or change a prescribed medicine, or to swap it for fasting or a supplement. That is between them and their doctor. Posts that do are removed.
  3. No pushing hard fasts. Do not urge others into fasts of 24 hours or more, dry fasting, eating under 1,200 kcal a day, or carrying on through dizziness or other symptoms.
  4. Be kind about bodies and food. Nothing that praises starving, purging or extreme thinness, and no shaming anyone for their size or what they eat.
  5. No ads, no selling, no contact details. No products, coaching, referral codes, shop links or phone numbers.
  6. Food photos only. One photo of food or drink per post. No people, bodies, screenshots or documents.
  7. How it is kept safe. Every post, reply and photo is checked by Google’s Gemini before others see it, and some wait for a person to look. Report anything that breaks these rules; we aim to look within 24 hours. Breaking them can get a post removed or an account suspended.

Peer experience, not medical advice

Progress posts describe what happened to one person. They are not recommendations, and nobody in Metabo Circle can see your records. Metabo is a wellness app, not medical advice: talk to your own doctor before changing how you eat or anything you have been prescribed.

How posts are checked

  • Before anyone else sees a post, reply, photo or Metabo Circle name, Google’s Gemini checks it against these rules. Most appear at once. Anything it is unsure about waits for one of our moderators, and only you can see it until then.
  • Advice to start, stop or change a prescribed medicine is removed on sight, and so is anything that pushes long or extreme fasting or encourages starving or purging. A post that mentions self-harm stays out of the feed, and the person who wrote it is shown where to find help.
  • Photos are resized, and their location and camera details removed, before they are stored. Members can see them, and so can anyone a link to the post is shared with.

Reporting and blocking

  • Report a post, a reply or a person from the menu on any post. The person you report is not told who reported them. Our moderators aim to look at every report within 24 hours; when several members report the same post, it is hidden until they do.
  • Block a person from the same menu. You will not see their posts and replies, and they will not see yours. They are not told. You can unblock them in Settings.

What happens when the rules are broken

A moderator can remove a post or reply and, for repeated or serious breaches, suspend an account from posting. A suspended member can still use the rest of Metabo, and read, report and block in Metabo Circle. Every decision is logged. If you think we got one wrong, write to us and a person will look again.

If you are struggling

If you are thinking about hurting yourself, you do not have to handle it alone. In India, call Tele-MANAS on 14416 (free, any time), or 112 in an emergency.
