Your data, plainly

What we collect, where it goes and how to take it back. Health data is never sold or used for advertising.

Last updated 2 November 2026

The short version

  • You can use Metabo as a guest. Then what you log stays in your browser or phone, and we never see it.
  • With an account, what you log is also saved on our server, so it follows you across devices.
  • The AI coach and AI food lookup send your question, and for the coach a summary of your data, to Google’s Gemini to write the answer. We say so where you use them.
  • If you post in Metabo Circle, other signed-in members see your post, replies and food photos with the name you choose there. A member can share a link to a post; anyone with the link can read that post and the replies under it, without an account. Google’s Gemini checks each one for safety first.
  • No ads, no ad trackers, no analytics cookies. We never sell your data.
  • You can export or delete everything, any time, from Settings in the app.

Who we are

Metabo is run by Pantheose Private Limited, a company incorporated in India (CIN U62099AP2026PTC126521) with its registered office at 25/1/631, Row House, ZP Colony 4th Street, Andhrakesari Nagar, Nellore 524004, Andhra Pradesh, India (“Metabo”, “we”). This policy covers newmetabo.com, the web app at app.newmetabo.com and the Metabo apps for iPhone and Android. For India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for your personal data. Write to us at sravani@newmetabo.com.

What we collect

If you use Metabo as a guest

Your profile, plan, fasts, meals, measurements and coach chats are kept in your browser’s storage or on your phone. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser’s data or deleting the app removes them, so export a backup from Settings if you want to keep them.

If you create an account

  • Sign-in details. Your email address or phone number, or your Google or Apple account, held by Firebase. Our server keeps only an account ID. When we email you a sign-in code, we keep the address, a scrambled copy of the code and your IP address for 24 hours, to stop abuse.
  • What you log. Your name, sex, year of birth, height, activity level and goals; your answers to the health check, which can include health conditions and medicines you choose to share; your fasts, meals and foods; your weight and body measurements; and your chats with the coach.
  • Devices for reminders. If you turn reminders on, a token that lets us send them to that phone or browser, and its platform.

If you use Metabo Circle

Metabo Circle’s feed is for signed-in members. When you join it, and when you post, we keep:

  • Your Metabo Circle name, which other members see next to what you post, and when you accepted the Metabo Circle guidelines.
  • What you share: your posts, replies, likes and food photos. Other signed-in members can see them, with your Metabo Circle name; they never see your email address, phone number or anything you logged. A member can share a link to a post, and anyone with that link can read the post and the replies under it without an account. Nothing in Metabo Circle is shown to search engines. Health details you write in a post or reply can be read by other members and by anyone a link to it reaches, so share only what you are happy for them to read.
  • Photos. Resized, and their location and camera details removed, before they are stored in Google Cloud. They are shown to signed-in members, and with a shared post to anyone who opens its link, through links that expire after a few hours.
  • Reports and blocks: who you report and why, and who you block. The person you report is not told it was you.

Before anyone else sees a post, reply, photo or Metabo Circle name, it goes to Google’s Gemini, which checks it against the guidelines. Gemini sees only what you submitted, not your other data. Anything it is unsure about, and anything members report, is read by our moderators, the two people who run Metabo, who can remove it and suspend an account. Every moderation decision is logged.

When you use the AI features

These need an account. When you ask the AI coach something, your messages and a summary of your data, including any health details you shared, go to Google’s Gemini to write the reply. When you look up a food with AI, what you typed goes to Gemini. Nothing is sent until you ask.

On this website

The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Our servers do not keep logs of your visits.

Why we use it

Only to run Metabo for you: to build your plan, show your progress, answer your questions, keep your data in step across devices, send the reminders you asked for, and keep the service secure. We process your data with your consent, which you give when you create an account or turn a feature on, and you can withdraw it at any time by deleting your account or turning the feature off. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.

Your health details are sensitive. We use them only to tailor your plan and the coach’s answers, and to decide when to tell you to see a doctor instead.

Who else sees it

These companies process data on our behalf, only for the purposes above:

We will also share data if the law requires it, for example a valid order from a court or government body, and then only what is required.

Where it is stored

Our server, database and backups are in Google Cloud in the United States. By using an account, your data is transferred there from India, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act allows.

How long we keep it

  • Your account data, for as long as you have an account.
  • When you delete your account, it is deleted from our server at once, with your Metabo Circle posts, replies and photos. Copies remain in our encrypted backups until they expire, 30 days later.
  • Sign-in codes and the IP address that asked for them, 24 hours.
  • Metabo Circle posts, replies, likes and photos, until you delete them or your account. A post or reply a moderator removes is kept 90 days after removal, for appeals and lawful requests, then deleted with its photo.
  • Reports, a year after a moderator has dealt with them. The moderation log, which records decisions but not what was written, a year.
  • Blocks, until you unblock the person or delete your account.
  • Guest data, on your device until you clear it. We never had it.

How we protect it

Everything travels over HTTPS. Backups are encrypted, and our server can add backups but not read or delete them. Keys and passwords never reach your browser. Only the people who run Metabo can reach the server. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India, as the law requires.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • See and export everything we hold about you: Settings, then Export.
  • Correct it, by editing it in the app.
  • Delete your account and everything in it: Settings, then Delete account.
  • Withdraw consent to any feature by turning it off, or to everything by deleting your account.
  • Nominate someone to act on your data if you die or cannot act yourself, by writing to us.
  • Complain to us, and if you are not satisfied with our answer, to the Data Protection Board of India.

For anything you cannot do in the app, write to sravani@newmetabo.com. We may ask you to confirm it is you. We reply within 15 days.

Children

Metabo is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and the app does not make a fasting plan for anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and its date, and tell you in the app or by email before the change applies to you.

Grievances and contact

Questions, requests and complaints about your data go to our grievance contact at sravani@newmetabo.com, or by post to Pantheose Private Limited, 25/1/631, Row House, ZP Colony 4th Street, Andhrakesari Nagar, Nellore 524004, Andhra Pradesh, India. See also our terms of use.
